We had a great turn out yesterday for the Handicap Tournament with 38 players. There were excellent scores too.
Next Wednesday will be the end of year lunch beginning at 11:00. We will announce the winners of the tournament prizes, Most Improved Golfer of 2017, and elect officers for the 2018 season.
You need to be present at the lunch meeting to claim your CASH prize. If you are a winner and are not able to be at the lunch meeting, your winnings will be credited to your FHCC house account.
The officers for 2017 hope everyone enjoyed this year and wish each of you a happy and healthy fall/winter season. We will see you next week.

Thank you to all score-keepers who take care to record the scores in the most readable way possible. Remember that putts are to be recorded on the BOTTOM HALF of the score card. Your secretary has difficulty discerning dots and "tick marks" so if you use that method of keeping putt scores, there will be no record kept.
Next week, May 3rd. will be the first Cheeseburger Game of the year. There will be Handicap Stickers available when you sign in for the day.
In FAIRNESS to all League Players, if you plan to participate in the Cheeseburger Game, you MUST sign in and pay your $5.00 entry fee BEFORE you start your round. It is not good golf etiquette to pay AFTER you have played and decided that you might be in contention.

Yesterday's round was effected somewhat by the heat resulting in only 29 players and several quitting early. Just as a reminder, if you play at least 13 holds our computer system will score the last 5 for you based on your handicap. So if you need to withdraw early and can get through 13, you will get a score for that round.
Also remember--on regular league play days KEEP YOUR PUTT scores. We have one or two players who forget to record putts.
If there is a tie for one of the "Low" categories the system uses a scorecard playoff beginning with the #1 handicap hole to determine the winner of that cagegory.

Two reminders for new members. You need to have 5 scores from League Play to establish a handicap. For those who have less than 5, we used your average scores thus far to get you competitive in this Cheeseburger. Also to participate in the "Most Improved Golfer" challenge you need to play at least 75% of the weeks in this season. That will be about 18 or 19 rounds so plan to be here often.

We've had a "spotty" last couple of weeks due to lousy weather, but we managed to get in a Cheeseburger game last Wednesday, although only 18 players signed in. The prize money pool was not very high as a result, but chances of taking home some cash improved for all.

We had an excellent turnout yesterday with 5 returning members joining
again bringing total membership to date at 51. Thank you all for your
participation. The golf course is coming into fine shape, the greens
yesterday looked very good, so this year is shaping up to be a good one
for Senor Golf.

Cheeseburger.

plenty of room and it sure helps your secretary make sure you get the

Wednesday's League Play was joined by 37, great turn-out! Just a couple of reminders...on the scorecard please record your putts on the LOWER section. Yesterday's lunch meeting and Cheeseburger league play concluded our 2013 season. A "Thank You" to you all for making this the best year we have had for the number of members (56), and for participating as much as you could making for interesting competition each and every week.
Your new officers for the 2014 season will be: Tony LeGrand, President; Larry Nickell, Vice-President; Morty Potashnick, Treasurer; and Greg Comer, Secretary.
The membership voted to give $300.00 to the club for a maintenance project selected by Darrell Best. Also agreed to by the membership was to revise our handicapping system, thus using the last 12 round scores vs. the last 20 round scores as used by USGA. The system will now select the lowest 6 scores from the last 12 and determine your handicap. This will produce a more up-to-date handicap as our season progresses. Prizes were awarded for the Handicap Tournament, and Russ Jones was named as Most Improved Golfer for 2013. Congratulations to all the winners.

We had another beautiful day for league play with 39 players signing in. Membership now
stands at 52. Thank you for continuing to promote the league with your
friends and fellow members of the club, but also come out and play on a
consistent basis. Just a reminder that to be considered for most improved
golfer for the 2013 season you must play in at least 75% of the regularly
scheduled league rounds. We still have a few new members that are still
establishing their handicap for the league since there is a minimum of 5 scores
